With one week remaining before the season opener, the University of Illinois is highlighting several updates for fans attending games at Memorial Stadium. The #12-ranked Illinois football team will begin its season against Western Illinois.
A new postgame experience called FamILLy Huddle, presented by Papa John's, will allow fans to access Zuppke Field after all home games. Entry points are in the southwest and southeast corners of Memorial Stadium. Fans must leave the field when the Marching Illini begins its exit march. In addition, Papa John's will offer a 40% discount on pizza using the code "Illini40" following each Illini football win this fall.
The university has announced enhancements to stadium concessions, with details available in a separate release.
The popular Illini Hour promotion returns this year and now includes all concession stands except food trucks. From 90 minutes to 30 minutes before kickoff, hot dogs and non-alcoholic beverages (excluding souvenir cups) will be sold for $3 each. Hard seltzers will be available for $5 and 24-ounce domestic beers for $7.
A new interactive wayfinding tool is being introduced to help attendees navigate parking lots, concessions areas, restrooms, and seat locations within Memorial Stadium. This resource can be accessed at map.fightingillini.com or through the Fighting Illini app.
Fans can also look forward to the Northeast Patio, a group space located in the northeast end zone that offers food options and a unique view of the game. Tickets for this area are sold out for most games but remain available for the Northwestern matchup later in the season.
The Fighting Illini football program continues its focus on sustainability through its "Be Orange, Go Green" initiative. In partnership with iSEE and Athletics, recycling bins are placed throughout Memorial Stadium and tailgating zones during home games as part of efforts to reduce landfill waste generated on game days.
Finally, ICON members at The Quad level ($1,000+) or above are invited onto the field in the south end zone during pregame warmups as part of an ongoing on-field experience offered by ICON.
