Illini women’s soccer opens preseason under new head coach Katie Hultin

The University of Illinois is set to begin its 2025-26 athletics season with the women's soccer team holding two exhibition matches. Under the direction of new head coach Katie Hultin, the Illini will face Marquette on Thursday, August 7 at Demirjian Park in Champaign. The second exhibition is scheduled for Sunday, August 10 against IU Indy in Indianapolis.

Admission to the home exhibition at Demirjian Park is free, and fans are encouraged to attend. The official regular season will start on Thursday, August 14 when Illinois plays UIC in Chicago. This match marks Hultin’s first opportunity to secure a win as head coach.

Hultin was named head coach ahead of the upcoming season and will lead the team through her debut year.
