Illinois soccer head coach Katie Hultin has announced the addition of Sutton Webb to the Fighting Illini roster for the 2025 season. Webb, a forward from Salisbury, N.C., joins Illinois after two years at Mississippi State. During her time with the Bulldogs, she made 11 appearances in 2024 and contributed to their SEC regular season championship win.
Webb's career includes playing for Salisbury High School and Charlotte Independence, where she was part of the USL W League club in 2022. She scored the first-ever goal for Charlotte Independence's team. Her high school career was marked by significant achievements including twice being named to the North Carolina All-State Team and earning Central Carolina Conference Offensive Player of the Year awards twice. Webb set school and county records with 137 goals and added 44 assists during her high school tenure.
Hultin expressed enthusiasm about Webb joining the team: "We are thrilled to welcome Sutton Webb to the famILLy. She brings outstanding experience and a competitive edge that reflects our championship mentality. Sutton is both technical and athletic, with a high soccer IQ that elevates everyone around her. Most importantly, she's an incredible person with a great attitude. She is exactly the kind of teammate and leader we value in our program."
Webb's move comes after making 23 appearances for Mississippi State over two seasons, logging a total of 308 minutes on the field.
