Illinois volleyball has announced the addition of Devin Dzienny to its 2025 roster. Head coach Chris Tamas shared the news on Monday, expressing confidence in Dzienny's abilities and her fit with the team.
Dzienny hails from Toledo, Ohio, and started her collegiate career at Florida in early 2025. Her impressive track record includes being named a 2024 First Team All-District player and participating in the OHSAA Final Four both in 2023 and 2024. She was also recognized as a First Team All-Conference Catholic High School League player during those years.
Coach Tamas praised Dzienny's background: "Devin comes from top high school and club programs. She's a winner and has helped her teams win several championships throughout her career. Her work ethic and attitude towards the game aligns with our program and she will be a great fit for our team."
Dzienny herself expressed enthusiasm about joining Illinois: "I chose Illinois because of its welcoming atmosphere. Illinois offers excellent academic programs, making it an ideal place for me to grow as a student athlete. From my first interaction, the coaches made me feel valued. The coaches' commitment to developing players both on and off the court stood out to me."
Her accolades include numerous tournament team selections across various events such as Prep Volleyball.com Second Team All-American in 2024, Sunshine Qualifier All-Tournament Team, Salt Lake City Qualifier All-Tournament Team, Central Zone All-Tournament Team, Triple Crown NIT Show Stopper, Triple Crown All-Tournament Team, Summerfest All-Tournament Team among others.
Dzienny has also been part of USA Volleyball NTDP Training Program Series since 2020 and was selected for USA Volleyball HP High Performance training in both 2019 and 2020.
