Illinois baseball secured a commanding 18-9 victory over Ohio State at Bill Davis Stadium. The win was driven by strong performances from Collin Jennings and Kyle Schupmann, who each hit two home runs and collected five RBIs. Jacob Schroeder also contributed with a home run. Every Illinois starter recorded a hit, with six players driving in runs.

Regan Hall started on the mound for Illinois, improving his season record to 7-4. He pitched over six innings, allowing five runs on nine hits while striking out six batters. Reed Gannon provided relief in the seventh inning, limiting damage despite inheriting a bases-loaded situation.

The game began with Illinois taking an early lead of 4-0 in the first inning, highlighted by Drake Westcott's two-run double. Ohio State responded with two runs in the third inning but couldn't close the gap as Illinois continued to extend their lead.

Jennings and Schupmann both hit two-run homers in the sixth and seventh innings respectively, pushing Illinois ahead 9-4. Despite Ohio State loading the bases in the seventh inning, Gannon managed to keep them to just one run.

In the eighth inning, Illinois scored eight times on seven hits. Jennings and Schupmann each hit three-run homers, while Schroeder added a two-run shot. Ohio State scored four times in their half of the eighth before Illinois added another run in the ninth to seal their victory.

The series will conclude tomorrow with Illinois looking to finish strong against Ohio State.
