The Champaign Fire Department responded to a fire in a single-family residence on the 2500 block of Campbell Drive on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 2:08 p.m. The fire crews managed to control the situation promptly.
Firefighters arrived following a report from an occupant about a fire in the single-story home. Upon arrival, they observed moderate smoke emanating from the front door. Multiple hose lines were deployed inside the building, and firefighters quickly extinguished the fire that originated in the kitchen.
Currently, investigators are still at the scene trying to determine the cause of the fire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among either firefighters or occupants.
