In one tweet, Miller expressed her opposition to federal funding for Planned Parenthood, stating: "Planned Parenthood is a multi-billion-dollar abortion business that continues to receive millions in federal funding." She called upon the Energy and Commerce Committee to ensure that no more American tax dollars are allocated to what she described as a "murder-for-profit organization."
In another tweet posted shortly after, Miller directed followers to " Read my letter to Chairman Guthrie of @HouseCommerce:" providing a link for further details on her correspondence with the committee chairman.

Mary Miller was born in Oak Park, Illinois in 1959 and currently resides in Oakland. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Illinois University.
