Rep. Mary Miller, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois' 15th district, uses social media to voice her opinions on various political and social issues. Miller has been active in Congress since 2021, succeeding John Shimkus. Known for her vocal positions, she recently made several statements on pressing matters.
On May 2, 2025, she highlighted her support for former President Trump's efforts to combat "waste and corruption" in the government. Miller affirmed this sentiment, stating "President Trump is leading the charge to restore our nation and eliminate the waste and corruption that have burdened our government for far too long. We are with him 100%! "
Later that day, she addressed issues concerning educational institutions, focusing her criticism on Harvard University. In her tweet, she accused the institution of using its tax-exempt status to foster radical anti-conservative ideologies. Hers was a call to action, as she advised that "Harvard has weaponized its tax-exempt status to cultivate a generation of radical elites who despise America and actively target conservatives. This institution must be stripped of its tax-exempt status and cut off from all federal funding."
Miller also commented on matters related to healthcare for minors, expressing her concern over certain medical procedures for children and adolescents. Her strong stance was evident when she tweeted "Giving kids puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, or mutilation surgeries is child abuse. Any doctor doing this belongs in prison. I'm glad HHS is exposing the Biden-era push for these dangerous procedures. We must end it! NOW!"
Mary Miller, born in Oak Park, Illinois, resides in Oakland and completed her undergraduate studies with a BA from Eastern Illinois University.
