On April 23, News, Brews, and Beatz celebrated its 10th episode with a live recording at Campbell Hall. The event, titled “It Takes a Village: The State of Champaign-Urbana’s Black Community Through the Lens of Key Black Leadership,” addressed issues and opportunities within the local Black community, focusing on youth development, education, and community safety.

Tracy Parsons, Community Relations Manager, co-facilitated the discussion with a panel of leaders, including Urbana Police Chief Larry Boone, Urbana School District 116 Superintendent Dr. Sheila Boozer, Reverend Rickey Parks, and Joe Stovall, CEO of First-String Inc. A performance by musician Ryan Byfield complemented the discussion.

The show is scheduled to air on May 12, accessible on the News, Brews, and Beatz YouTube playlist and their website.
