Fighting Illini women's golf has secured a spot in the NCAA Regionals, according to an announcement made on April 23, broadcast live on the GOLF Channel. The Illinois team will compete at The Ohio State University Golf Club in Columbus, Ohio, from May 5 to 7 as the No. 8 seed among 12 teams.

This marks the 11th overall regional appearance for Illinois in program history and the seventh in the past eight tournaments, with the 2020 national tournament being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Illini finished 11th at the 2023 NCAA San Antonio Regional and ninth at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional two seasons ago. They have advanced to the NCAA Championships once, securing a ninth-place finish in 2019.

There will be six regional tournaments taking place from May 5-7 to establish the field for the championships. Regional tournaments serve as preliminary rounds with adherence to all national championship policies.

A total of 72 teams and 36 individual participants have been selected for regional competition, with 396 players participating. Out of these, 156 will move on to the championship finals. The top five teams and leading individual player, from non-advancing teams from each regional, will progress.

The NCAA Women's Golf National Championships are scheduled for May 16-21 at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, hosted by Texas. The final three days will be aired live on the GOLF Channel.
