Rep. Mary Miller, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 15th district since 2021, expressed her views through a series of social media posts. She took to Twitter to discuss party politics, federal spending, and government issues in the United States.
On April 18, 2025, Miller voiced her criticism of the Democratic Party by stating that "The Democrat Party has become the party of illegal gang member sympathizers." This post reflects a critical stance on the party's approach to immigration and crime-related issues.
In another post on April 19, 2025, Miller addressed government spending on animal testing, asserting that "The federal government spends an estimated $20 billion a year on animal testing. This is great news—it’s long past time we stop the abuse of innocent animals!" In this tweet, she appears to advocate for the cessation of such practices, suggesting it as a form of animal abuse.
Later that same day, on April 19, 2025, she commented on the state of the federal government upon former President Trump's commencement of office, remarking that "President Trump inherited a disaster from Joe Biden: a bloated, bankrupt, and weaponized government." She added that Trump is committed to "cleaning it up—and restoring a country that works for American families, not Washington insiders." This post emphasizes her support for Trump and criticism of the preceding administration under President Biden.
Mary Miller, 63, was born in Oak Park, Illinois, in 1959. After graduating from Eastern Illinois University with a BA, she now resides in Oakland. She replaced John Shimkus in Congress starting in 2021.
