The Illinois men's golf team, ranked 11th nationally, is set to participate in the Boilermaker Invitational this weekend. The tournament, hosted by Purdue University, will be held on April 19-20 at the Ackerman-Allen Golf Course in West Lafayette, Indiana. This marks Illinois' final regular-season event before the 2025 Big Ten Championship.

The Ackerman-Allen Course, a championship golf course designed by Pete Dye, is known for its large bent-grass greens and challenging layout with tree-lined fairways and white sand bunkers. The Boilermaker Individual event will take place at the nearby Kampen Course.

The tournament features a five-count-four format proceeding over two days, with 36 holes scheduled for Saturday and the final round on Sunday. The competition will feature 18 teams, including six from the Big Ten. Among those teams, Illinois is joined by other top-50 ranked schools like Purdue, Notre Dame, and Marquette.

The Illinois lineup consists of Max Herendeen, Jackson Buchanan, Ryan Voois, Ethan Wilson, and Trey Marrion. Jackson Buchanan returns to the tournament for his second appearance, having previously finished fourth in 2022. During the Purdue Fall Invitational last season, Buchanan secured one of his four collegiate tournament wins on the same course.

Live scoring for the event is available through GolfStat.com, with recaps and results posted on FightingIllini.com after each day's competition.

Next on the schedule for Illinois is the 2025 Big Ten Men's Golf Championship at Baltimore Country Club from April 25-27.
