Rep. Mary Miller, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 15th district since 2021, recently posted a series of tweets outlining her positions on various taxation and public policy issues.
In a tweet on April 15, 2025, Rep. Miller called for the implementation of various tax exemptions. She stated, " NO TAX ON TIPS NO TAX ON SENIORS’ SOCIAL SECURITY NO TAX ON OVERTIME PAY RENEW THE TRUMP TAX CUTS Let’s get it done!” Her declaration suggests support for maintaining and expanding tax provisions aligned with former President Trump’s policies.
Later the same day, Rep. Miller voiced her stance on the IRS's operational practices. She posted support for a legislative proposal by Rep. Barry Moore to curtail the IRS's resources, particularly in terms of its armed capabilities "The IRS doesn't need a stockpile of guns and ammunition — it needs proper transparency, oversight, and accountability. I fully support @RepBarryMoore's bill to disarm the IRS and end this dangerous power grab once and for all!"
On April 16, 2025, Miller emphasized the need for policy measures that ensure the exclusivity of Social Security and Medicaid benefits to American citizens "Common-sense leadership is back! We must protect Social Security and Medicaid to ensure these vital programs benefit American citizens only. Thank you, President Trump!" This assertion highlights her preference for policies prioritizing American citizens in federal benefit programs.
Mary Miller, born in Oak Park, Illinois in 1959 and now residing in Oakland, holds a BA degree from Eastern Illinois University.
