In the singles matches, Michigan State achieved straight-set wins at No. 5 and 6, leading them closer to victory. The final point was clinched at No. 3 singles. In the top singles showdown, Kenta Miyoshi from Illinois played against Aristotelis Thanos of Michigan State.
