The University of Illinois men's gymnastics team is set to face Ohio State in their final regular season match. The event will take place at the Coveli Center in Columbus, Ohio, on March 25 at 3 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.

Illinois enters the competition with a record of 4-3 overall and 1-2 in Big Ten play, mirroring Ohio State's record. Illinois looks forward to having Brandon Dang and Ian Sandoval back in the lineup as they prepare for the postseason.

Ohio State recently faced a defeat against Michigan, with Parker Thackston achieving his sixth pommel horse win this season. Tyler Rockwood secured his third rings title with a career-high score, while Kameron Nelson tied his season-high on vault for his sixth title.

In their last outing, Illinois lost to Penn State but saw strong performances from several gymnasts. Vahe Petrosyan started well on floor exercises, and Connor Micklos led on pommel horse. Preston Ngai performed strongly on still rings, while Matthew Vu Nguyen was notable on vault.

Two Illinois athletes recently represented Team USA at the FIG World Cup Series in Baku. Alex Diab earned a bronze medal on still rings, while Brandon Dang won gold in his first international competition. Dang also competed in Turkey later in March.

Matthew Vu Nguyen has been recognized as Big Ten's Freshman of the Week for two consecutive weeks following impressive performances against Penn State. He also received CGA Rookie of the Week honors.

Preston Ngai and Garrett Schooley were highlighted as gymnasts to watch this season. Both have previously delivered strong performances for Illinois.

Head Coach Daniel Ribeiro leads the team into this crucial matchup with an overall career record of 41-23 and a Big Ten record of 7-5 during his three seasons at Illinois.
