On March 14-15, 2025, representatives from the Equity and Engagement Department and the Police Department participated in the Healing Solutions for Healing Communities Summit at the I Hotel. This event was sponsored by the Champaign County Community Coalition, Healing Illinois, and the University of Illinois School of Social Work. It centered on themes of community building, healing, and resilience.

The summit featured interactive workshops, presentations, and wellness exercises focused on trauma-informed practices, safe spaces, and community support. Participants explored ways to foster healing and build stronger environments through shared understanding and empathy.

On March 15th, staff members served as judges for the "Pitch for Change" competition. In this segment of the summit, community members worked together to develop local solutions aimed at positive community change. The event wrapped up with a resource vendor fair that highlighted resources related to healing, wellness, and inclusion. During this fair, the Champaign Police Department provided information about scam prevention. Meanwhile, the Equity and Engagement Department showcased the City's Human Rights Ordinance and encouraged participants to create self-portraits celebrating diversity.
