Rep. Mary Miller, currently serving in the U.S. Congress for Illinois’ 15th district, has voiced her concerns regarding educational issues and federal spending through a series of tweets on March 20, 2025.

In her first tweet, Rep. Miller expressed her dissatisfaction with Washington bureaucrats' handling of education. She stated, "It became crystal clear that Washington bureaucrats have failed our families and have put their radical ideology over the actual educational needs of our children." The tweet further called for action with the phrase "SHUT IT DOWN!" and directed readers to an op-ed co-authored with Rep. Mark Harris.

Later that day, Rep. Miller shared statistics highlighting educational challenges in the United States. According to her tweet, " DID YOU KNOW? 7 in 10 fourth graders aren’t proficient in reading. 1 in 3 eighth graders still can’t read. Reading & math scores are at their lowest in decades." She questioned the effectiveness of the Department of Education's large workforce and substantial budget.

In another brief message, she commented on a situation she found problematic by stating, "This is wrong on so many levels!"
