Illinois swimmers set new marks at Last Chance Meet

The Illinois swim and dive team concluded the Last Chance Meet held in Louisville, Kentucky, from February 28 to March 1. Sophia Yousuf achieved notable performances by setting two top-10 program marks. She recorded the seventh-fastest time in the program's history for the 100 freestyle at 49.97 seconds and secured the ninth-fastest mark in the 200 IM with a time of 2:02.42.

In addition to these achievements, Yousuf also set personal records in several events, including the 50 freestyle (23.71) and the 200 freestyle (1:50.26). Taylor Judas also impressed with personal-best times in both the 200 freestyle (1:52.27) and the 200 backstroke (2:04.59). Marin McAndrew set a personal best in the 100 butterfly with a time of 55.57.

Elleka Boeres delivered strong performances on the diving boards, scoring 232.43 on the one-meter board and achieving a score of 249.08 on the three-meter board.

Looking ahead, "The swim and dive squad are off until March 13-15 for the CSCAA Championships in Ocala, Fla., and NCAA Diving Zones in Columbus, Ohio."
