The Illini began their competition on the beam, where Amelia Knight led the team with a score of 9.775. Chloe Cho and Ruthuja Nataraj each contributed scores of 9.700.
On the floor exercise, Tali Joelson and Knight both scored 9.800, while Eden King achieved the highest Illini score in this event with a 9.875.
During the third rotation on vault, Kennedy Brown and Olivia Coppola both achieved career-high scores of 9.875, while Cho matched her previous best with a score of 9.900.
The team concluded their performance on uneven bars, where Destiny Denning, Makayla Green, and Cho each earned scores of 9.850.
"Today the team had many great highs, which will help the team to keep moving forward toward a strong postseason," head coach Nadalie Walsh stated. "I'm really proud of the vault and bars teams for stepping up and being our best events. Beam was solid, but shakier than we should be, and the judging was definitely tight for all four teams tonight. This will only fire up the girls for next week."
Looking ahead, Illinois is set to compete at Western Michigan in another quad meet scheduled for March 8 at 3 p.m. CT.
