Fighting Illini women's golf team is preparing to compete in The Chevron Collegiate at the Golf Club of Houston, located in Humble, Texas. This event, hosted by the University of Houston, will take place over two days from February 24 to February 25.

The tournament, previously known as the ICON Invitational, will be held on the Tournament Course designed by Rees Jones and former PGA Tour professional David Toms in 2005. The course is set up for a par 72 and measures 6,203 yards.

A total of 16 teams will participate in this 54-hole tournament. Both days will start with an 8:00 a.m. CT shotgun start. Monday's play will consist of 36 holes of continuous play, followed by an additional 18 holes on Tuesday.

Teams joining Illinois include Arkansas, Houston, Indiana, Iowa, Iowa State, Maryland, Mississippi State, North Texas, SMU, TCU, Texas A&M, Texas State, Texas Tech, Tulsa and UTSA.

The lineup for Illinois features Anna Ritter at No.1 position followed by Yurang Li at No.2; Brielle Mapanao at No.3; Lexanne Halama at No.4; and Victoria Zheng at No.5.

This marks the fourth consecutive year that Illinois has participated in The Chevron Collegiate. In last year's event, they finished ninth overall while Isabel Sy achieved co-champion status with impressive rounds of 7-under 65 and 4-under 68 in subsequent rounds.

In previous years such as the one in 2022 edition where they finished second out of fifteen teams with a total score of -24 (850), setting records both individually and as a team including Crystal Wang's record-breaking -8 (64) final round score which was then lowest round recorded for program history.
