The Illinois men's and women's distance medley relay (DMR) teams participated in the Alex Wilson Invitational in South Bend, Indiana. The men's team, consisting of Nicolas Dovalovsky, Jackson Gilbert, Tadeas Placek, and Will Merrick, set a new school record with a time of 9:24.45. This performance surpassed the previous record of 9:29.19 held by Jesse Reiser, Joe Haight, Denis O'Callaghan, and Jon Davis since 2019. The new record is currently the 12th-fastest time nationally and positions them for qualification to the NCAA Indoor Championships.

On the women's side, the team comprising Halle Hill, Azariyah Bryant, Sam Poglitsch, and Kennady Anderson achieved a sixth-place finish with a time of 11:08.64. This marks the second-fastest time in program history and ranks as the 22nd fastest nationally.

Both teams are preparing for their next competition at the Big Ten Indoor Championships in Indianapolis from February 28 to March 1. The women's team aims to defend their title won last year after an eleven-year gap.
