State Senator Chapin Rose | Illinois General Assembly
State Senator Chapin Rose of Mahomet expressed his concerns following Governor JB Pritzker's recent budget proposal. In a statement, Sen. Rose criticized the governor's financial management since taking office.
"Pritzker has a spending problem," said Sen. Rose. He noted that the state budget has increased by nearly $15 billion, marking a 37% rise under Governor Pritzker's leadership. "Think about that. How many people have had a paycheck at home that has gone up 37% in just a few couple years?" he questioned.
Senator Rose argued that Illinois residents are struggling to keep pace with the escalating budget and accused the governor of relying on taxpayers for financial support while providing free healthcare for undocumented immigrants.
"Enough is enough," Sen. Rose stated, emphasizing the need for "responsible budgeting, fiscal transparency, and policies that put them first, not political ambition."
