Five former University of Illinois golfers are competing in professional tournaments across the globe this week, marking the first week of February with events in Scottsdale, Arizona; Bogota, Colombia; Doha, Qatar; and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Thomas Detry and Nick Hardy are participating in the PGA TOUR's WM Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale. Detry currently holds 17th place in the FedEx Cup rankings and is ranked No. 58 in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR). He has successfully made the cut in all four of his starts for the 2025 season, achieving top-15 finishes at The Sentry (T5) and the Farmers Insurance Open (T15). Last week, he finished T48 at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Hardy is aiming to make his first cut of the season with this being his fourth start.
On the DP World Tour, Adrien Dumont de Chassart will be making his third start of the season at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters in Doha. He recently secured a 24th-place finish at last weekend's Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship with rounds of 69-70-72-69 for an overall score of eight-under-par 280.
Thomas Pieters will debut with his new team, 4Aces GC, as part of the LIV Golf League's opening event for 2025 at Riyadh Golf Club in Saudi Arabia. Previously associated with captain Bubba Watson and Range Goats GC during his initial two seasons on tour, Pieters now joins forces with captain Dustin Johnson along with Patrick Reed and Harold Varner III.
Luke Guthrie continues to pursue success on the Korn Ferry Tour by competing in this week's Astara Golf Championship held in Bogota. After making cuts at both earlier events this season—including a notable T5 finish during The Bahamas Great Abaco Classic—Guthrie aims to advance through another weekend. This marks Guthrie's sixth participation within Country Club de Bogota’s event where he previously achieved T12 (2017) and T16 (2018).
