The Illinois men's golf team has announced an exhibition match against Florida State as part of their spring schedule. The event is set for February 1 at the Watersound Club's Camp Creek Golf Course in Inlet Beach, Florida. This match serves as preparation for both teams ahead of the second half of the 2024-25 season.

Illinois ended the fall season ranked 12th nationally, while Florida State holds the 31st position. Both teams have reached NCAA Championship match play in three of the last four seasons, with Illinois having made nine appearances since 2008-09.

Post-exhibition, Illinois will compete in six stroke-play events leading to the Big Ten Championship in late April. Both teams are scheduled to host NCAA Regionals from May 12-14, with Illinois hosting for the first time at Atkins Golf Club. The NCAA Championship will take place from May 23-28 at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California.

The Illini's spring season officially starts on February 13-15 at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate in Hawaii. March includes participation in tournaments such as Southern Highlands Collegiate and Pauma Valley Invitational. In April, they will compete at Augusta Haskins Award Invitational and Boilermaker Invitational before entering postseason play.

The Big Ten Championship is scheduled for April 25-27 at Baltimore Country Club. Illinois aims for its 14th title since 2009 and a strong performance leading into NCAA Regionals and Nationals.

Illinois seeks its 16th NCAA Championship berth in 17 years, following last year's top-five national finish after winning the Stanford Regional title.
