ARC Pool | University of Illinois Fighting Illini
The University of Illinois swim and dive team is gearing up for the start of their 2025 season. The team will begin with a diving competition at Northern Arizona on Tuesday, January 7, followed by a Big Ten opener against Purdue at the ARC Pool in Champaign on Saturday, January 11.
The diving event on Tuesday will feature competitors from Northern Arizona and Rice. In this format, teams perform six different dives, with each diver executing two. Teams are required to participate in all six dives using the one-meter springboard, three-meter springboard, and platform.
Illinois currently boasts an unbeaten 5-0 dual record this season. A victory over Purdue would mark their first 6-0 start since the 2010-11 season when they achieved a 7-0 start.
Purdue also maintains an unblemished record with a 2-0 (1-0 B1G) dual standing. Their achievements include a win over No. 25 Missouri and a Big Ten victory against Rutgers. Last season, Purdue secured sixth place out of twelve teams at the Big Ten Championships.
