Illinois volleyball players receive CSC Academic All-District honors

College Sports Communicators (CSC) has announced the Academic All-District honors, recognizing three players from the University of Illinois' women's volleyball team. The players, Averie Hernandez, Raegen Reilly, and Cari Bohm, have received this honor for the first time.

Hernandez joined the Illini as a junior and made significant contributions to the team. She finished second on the team with 291 kills and an average of 2.55 kills per set. Hernandez also achieved double-digit kills in 13 matches and led her team in two contests. Defensively, she recorded five matches with double-digit digs and achieved two double-doubles. Hernandez is majoring in communications.

Reilly participated in every match for the Fighting Illini this season. As a setter, she ended the year with 112 total assists and eight service aces. Her performance included a season-high nine assists and an ace against Wisconsin when they were ranked seventh nationally. Reilly is pursuing a master's degree in management.

Bohm started all 31 matches for Illinois this year, ranking second on her team with 114 total blocks and averaging one block per set. She had five or more blocks in 11 matches during the season, including a personal best of nine blocks against WKU. Bohm is majoring in management.

The CSC Academic All-District Women's Volleyball teams acknowledge top student-athletes across the nation for their academic achievements alongside their athletic performances.
