The Illinois football program, under the leadership of head coach Bret Bielema, announced the signing of 21 student-athletes on National Signing Day. This marks Bielema's fourth consecutive top-50 recruiting class at Illinois, a milestone last achieved by the university between 2005 and 2009, according to 247Sports' national rankings.
The 2025 signing class includes 20 freshmen and one junior college transfer. Among them are six Illinois natives, three four-star recruits as rated by at least one national recruiting service, and three brothers of current Illini players.
Illinois' new signees boast an average 247Sports rating of 86.85, setting a record for the highest average rating in the program's history. The last two classes have been recognized as the most talented in Illinois' history based on ratings dating back to 2001.
