Director of Illinois track, field, and cross country Petros Kyprianou has announced the signing of Lucie Kienast. She will join the team as a freshman at the start of the 2025 season.
Kienast boasts a personal best of 6.54 meters in the long jump and has scored 6,044 points in the heptathlon. Her heptathlon score surpasses Carmel Corbett's program record by nearly 400 points, while her long jump performance ranks as the fifth-best mark in the program's history.
According to Kyprianou, "Her best marks would've placed her fourth in the heptathlon and fifth in the long jump last season" at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
