Illinois volleyball standout Raina Terry has been selected 11th overall by the Columbus Fury in the 2024 Pro Volleyball Federation draft. The announcement was made on Monday afternoon, marking a significant milestone for Terry and Illinois volleyball.

Throughout her five-year career with the Fighting Illini, Terry has set records in several categories, including career kills (2,090), aces (219), and points (2,469.5). She has also been recognized twice as an AVCA All-Region selection and a First Team All-Big Ten honoree.

Terry's consistent performance is evident as she started all but one match during her tenure at Illinois, participating in 139 matches and 518 sets. In her senior year, she led the Big Ten with 618 total points and was second in total kills with 539. Her average of 4.69 kills per set ranked sixth nationally and second in the conference, while her points per set were seventh nationally.

In Big Ten conference play alone in 2023, Terry ranked second with 5.41 points per set and third with 4.72 kills per set. Her service skills added to her accolades as she ranked tenth in aces per set within the conference.

Terry's impressive performances include ten matches where she achieved over 20 kills, seven of which were against league opponents. Notably, she was the first player in the Big Ten that season to surpass 500 kills during her Senior Night match against Michigan on November 18.

As of the current season, Terry continues to excel by averaging 5.31 points per set—placing her first in the league—and accumulating a total of 547.5 points which rank second overall. Her achievements extend beyond just points; she ranks third in both aces (55) and total kills (456).

Raina Terry becomes the first player from Illinois volleyball to be drafted into the PVF but follows former Illini Ali Bastianelli who played for San Diego Mojo earlier this year.
