Illini alumni make impact during Week 11 of NFL season

Former University of Illinois football players made their presence felt during Week 11 of the 2024 NFL season. Various alumni contributed to their teams' efforts, with some facing tough losses and others enjoying victories.

Tony Adams, a safety for the New York Jets, played seven special teams snaps in a narrow 28-27 defeat against the Indianapolis Colts. Offensive lineman Nick Allegretti started at left guard for the Washington Commanders, participating in all offensive plays during their 26-18 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Running back Chase Brown from the Cincinnati Bengals had an active game, recording 86 rushing yards on 22 carries and adding 57 receiving yards in a 34-27 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Meanwhile, Sydney Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles participated in both defensive and special teams plays, contributing one tackle in their win over Washington.

Houston Texans' linebacker Jake Hansen was on the field for nine defensive and numerous special teams snaps, achieving three tackles as his team triumphed over the Dallas Cowboys with a score of 34-10. Kerby Joseph of the Detroit Lions delivered a notable performance by securing an interception along with three tackles during their dominant victory against Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Bengals' center Ted Karras played every offensive snap but could not prevent his team's loss to Los Angeles. Vederian Lowe scored a touchdown for New England Patriots while playing left tackle throughout their game against Los Angeles Rams.

In other matches, Quan Martin made six tackles and forced a fumble despite Washington's defeat by Philadelphia. Jer'Zhan Newton also recorded three tackles for Washington during this match-up.

Alex Palczewski took part in Denver Broncos' significant win over Atlanta Falcons by engaging in both offensive and special teams actions. Del'Shawn Phillips managed one tackle across several snaps as Houston celebrated another success against Dallas Cowboys.

Casey Washington exited due to injury after participating early on when Atlanta faced off against Denver Broncos. Lastly, Devon Witherspoon helped Seattle Seahawks clinch victory over San Francisco 49ers through eight tackles alongside three pass breakups achieved throughout his time on-field at cornerback position.
