Illinois Women's Basketball Head Coach Shauna Green has announced the signing of Cearah Parchment to the Fighting Illini program. Parchment, a native of Whitby, Ontario, Canada, will join the team next season after officially committing by completing a Big Ten Athletics Scholarship Agreement during the National Signing Period.

Parchment is a 6'3" forward who attends Fort Erie International Academy. She is ranked as a four-star prospect and is listed as No. 46 in the Class of 2025 and No. 11 at her position by 247Sports. ESPNW's HoopGurlz rankings place her at No. 40.

During her time with Team Canada, Parchment averaged 3.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.0 steals in the FIBA U17 tournament, contributing to winning a silver medal. At the 2023 FIBA U16 Women's Americas Championship, she averaged 10 points, 6.7 rebounds, and achieved All-Star Five recognition.

Parchment expressed her reasons for choosing Illinois: "I chose Illinois because it was the best fit for my playing style. Illinois is building something really special."

Coach Green commented on Parchment's potential impact: "Cearah Parchment hails from Toronto, and I can't wait to have her here in Champaign... She's just so coachable and she wants to be great."

Parchment has also been recognized as a two-time All-Canadian Game Team MVP and Grind Session All-Star among other accolades.
