Illinois freshman swimmer Chloe Diner has been recognized as the Big Ten Freshman of the Week, as announced by the conference on Wednesday, October 30. Diner is the first in her program's history to earn this accolade twice, having previously won it on October 16, 2024.
Diner achieved three top-10 marks for her program in victories against Vanderbilt and Indiana State. She secured fourth place in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:02.25, seventh place in the 50 breaststroke clocking in at 29.39 seconds, and tenth place in the 100 butterfly at 55.40 seconds. Additionally, she claimed another title in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:17.57, totaling four individual wins over the two-day meet and leading her team. Her performance in the 100-breaststroke ranks as the sixth-fastest time in the Big Ten this season.
