Illini alumni make impact across NFL games during Week 8

Former University of Illinois football players made notable contributions in the NFL during Week 8 of the 2024 season. Isaiah Adams played for the Arizona Cardinals, contributing to their narrow 28-27 victory over the Miami Dolphins with 26 offensive and four special teams snaps.

Tony Adams was not active for the New York Jets as they fell to a 25-22 defeat against the New England Patriots. Nick Allegretti started at left guard for the Washington Commanders, participating in all offensive and special teams snaps during their win over the Chicago Bears.

Chase Brown served as a team captain for the Cincinnati Bengals and managed 32 rushing yards on 12 carries, alongside two receiving yards in their loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Sydney Brown, also a captain, participated in both defensive and special teams snaps for the victorious Eagles.

Tommy DeVito did not play in the New York Giants' game against Pittsburgh Steelers. Kendrick Green took part in five special teams snaps for Houston Texans during their win over Indianapolis Colts. Jake Hansen contributed significantly with a sack while playing linebacker for Houston.

Nate Hobbs started at cornerback for Las Vegas Raiders, recording four tackles despite their loss to Kansas City Chiefs. Kerby Joseph shone with six tackles and an interception for Detroit Lions as they dominated Tennessee Titans.

Ted Karras was another captain from Illinois alumni who played all offensive snaps in Cincinnati's match against Philadelphia Eagles. Doug Kramer saw action with Chicago Bears while Vederian Lowe started at left tackle for New England Patriots securing a win against New York Jets.

Quan Martin was pivotal in defense for Washington Commanders, amassing eleven tackles against Chicago Bears. Chase McLaughlin kicked successfully for Tampa Bay Buccaneers despite their defeat by Atlanta Falcons.

Jer'Zhan Newton excelled defensively with three tackles and a fumble recovery contributing to Washington's triumph over Chicago Bears. Alex Palczewski remained inactive during Denver Broncos' game against Carolina Panthers.

Del'Shawn Phillips engaged fully on special teams duty as Houston Texans edged past Indianapolis Colts. Tip Reiman contributed offensively and on special teams aiding Arizona Cardinals' victory over Miami Dolphins.

Dawuane Smoot participated actively in Buffalo Bills' win over Seattle Seahawks whereas Jihad Ward featured minimally in Minnesota Vikings' loss to Los Angeles Rams. Casey Washington saw limited action yet his team Atlanta Falcons emerged victorious over Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Isaiah Williams recorded his first career catches helping Detroit Lions thrash Tennessee Titans convincingly while Devon Witherspoon defended diligently albeit Seattle Seahawks succumbed to Buffalo Bills comprehensively.
