The Manning Award, supported by the Allstate Sugar Bowl, has added 14 new players to its 2024 Watch List. Among these additions is Luke Altmyer, the quarterback for the Fighting Illini. Altmyer has been performing well this season, contributing to his team's 6-1 record and #20 national ranking with 15 touchdown passes and only one interception. His performance places him at the top among Power 4 quarterbacks in terms of touchdown/interception ratio.

The Manning Award was established by the Allstate Sugar Bowl to honor Archie, Peyton, and Eli Manning's achievements in college football. It is unique in that it considers bowl performances when determining the winner.

A panel of national media members who cover college football, along with each of the Mannings, will decide on the finalists for this award. The list of finalists will be announced on December 5th, and the winner will be revealed after the College Football Playoff National Championship.

Initially featuring 29 quarterbacks on its preseason watch list, the Manning Award expanded its list due to notable performances in the first half of this year. Despite these additions, all quarterbacks nationwide remain eligible for consideration.

Over its two-decade history, the Manning Award has recognized quarterbacks from various schools and conferences. The Southeastern Conference leads with nine honorees while other conferences like Big 12 and Atlantic Coast have also seen multiple winners. Notably, LSU boasts three award recipients.

The legacy of Archie, Peyton, and Eli Manning is significant in college football history. They collectively achieved over 25,000 passing yards and scored 201 touchdowns during their collegiate careers before making a mark in professional football as high draft picks.
