Illinois volleyball faced a challenging match against Nebraska, resulting in a straight-set loss at the Bob Devaney Sports Center on Friday night. The Fighting Illini's record now stands at 13-6 overall and 5-4 in Big Ten play, while the Huskers improved to 19-1 and remain undefeated in league action.

Despite tying the frame at 17 each through Laynie Smith's efforts, Illinois eventually succumbed to a tight finish of 28-26.

Looking ahead, Illinois will continue their road trip with an upcoming match against Iowa on Sunday at Xtreme Arena.
