The Fighting Illini swim and dive team is set to host the House of Paign Invite at the ARC Pool in Champaign, Illinois. The event will feature competition against Vanderbilt and Indiana State. The meet begins on Friday, October 25, at 5 p.m. CT and continues on Saturday, October 26, starting at 11 a.m. CT.
Freshman Chloe Diner is expected to continue her strong performance from the season opener against Kansas. In that meet, she secured victories in two individual races: the 200 IM with a time of 2:03.08 and the 500 freestyle clocking in at 5:02.26. Senior Sydney Stoll also had notable achievements by winning the 100 butterfly in 55.89 seconds and contributing to wins in both the 200 medley relay (1:43.37) and the 400 freestyle relay (3:29.78).
Vanderbilt enters this meet with an overall record of zero wins and three losses this season. Their campaign began on September 27 with a dual against Tulane where they were defeated, scoring only 87 points to Tulane's 150. Subsequent matches saw them lose significantly to South Carolina and Georgia earlier this month.
On the other hand, Indiana State holds a perfect record of two wins with no losses thus far this season. They opened their campaign with a substantial win over Illinois State on October 4, scoring more than double their opponent’s points at 213.5-86.5 before defeating Eastern Illinois by a large margin on October 18.
