Illinois women's golf head coach Renee Slone has announced the signing of Yurang Li to a National Letter of Intent. Li, from Fullerton, California, attends Sunny Hills High School and has achieved numerous accolades in her junior golf career.

Li's achievements include being named the CIF Southern Section Southern Individual Medalist in 2023 and the MVP of her high school golf team for four consecutive years from 2020 to 2023. She was also recognized as the Freeway League MVP during those same years. Additionally, she was twice named OC Register Athlete of the Week in 2022 and 2023 and was part of the All-County Team in 2022.

Her team accomplishments include being part of the CIF Southern Section Division 3 Team Champions in 2021 and winning the Freeway League Co-Championships in both 2022 and 2023. Individually, she placed fifth at the Girls Jr. Americas Cup in 2023 and third at the Kathy Whitworth Invitational that same year.

When asked why she chose Illinois, Li stated, "I chose Illinois because the resources available here will allow me to focus on improving my golf game and pursuing my education."

Coach Slone expressed enthusiasm about Li joining their program: "We are thrilled Yurang has decided the University of Illinois is the best place for her to continue her academic and athletic journey. She has had an outstanding junior career reaching as high as No. 3 in the National Junior Golf Scoreboard rankings. Yurang will make an immediate impact on our program. She is a selfless individual consistently thinking of how she can help her team. We are excited to welcome her to Illinois Women's Golf and can't wait to assist her in this next chapter."
