Illinois Swim Team welcomes 13 new recruits for upcoming season

Illinois swimming and diving head coach Jeana Kempe has announced the signing of 13 incoming freshmen to join the team for the 2024-25 season. Coach Kempe expressed her enthusiasm for the new recruits, stating, "I am so excited to welcome the high school class of 2024 into our program. This group embodies what we are building at Illinois. They are all highly accomplished at the club and high-school levels. We are looking forward to see what their legacies will be at Illinois."

The new signees include Leia Berman from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; Kayla Duran from Chicago, Ill.; Gianna Cappello from Downers Grove, Ill.; Chloe Diner from Aurora, Ill.; Sophia Paduano from Overland Park, Kan.; Stephanie Kirova from Lincolnshire, Ill.; Sophia Szymanski from Park Ridge, Ill.; Isabella Wilhelm from Deerfield, Ill.; Sophia Yousuf from Denville, N.J.; Kennedy Rainwater from Brookfield, Wis.; Carlie Rose from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; Maya Arroyo from Chicago, Ill., and Taylor Judas from Urbandale, Iowa.

Each recruit brings a wealth of experience and accomplishments in swimming and diving competitions at both state and national levels. The team looks forward to integrating these athletes into their program next fall.
