Sydney Stoll sets records at Big Ten swimming championships

Illinois swimmer Sydney Stoll showcased an impressive performance at the 2024 Big Ten Championships, setting new records for the Fighting Illini. Stoll began by leading off the 800 freestyle relay and broke the program record for the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:47.53. Her efforts helped her team, which included sophomore Sara Jass, senior Laurel Bludgen, and freshman Martina Cibulkova, achieve the program's fourth-fastest time of 7:18.17.

In addition to her relay success, Stoll broke her own school record in the 100 butterfly preliminaries with a time of 54.00. She placed 15th and qualified for the B finals, where she finished seventh with a time of 54.54, earning 12 points for her team.

Stoll is a junior from Hartland, Wisconsin, majoring in finance and accountancy with a GPA of 3.94.
