The Illinois swim and dive team concluded the third day of the Big Ten Championships in West Lafayette, Indiana. Junior Sydney Stoll broke her own school record in the 100 butterfly preliminaries with a time of 54.00 seconds, securing 15th place to qualify for the B finals. In the B finals, she finished seventh with a time of 54.54 seconds, earning 12 points for her team.
The 200 freestyle relay team consisting of junior Logan Kuehne, senior Lily Olson, senior Laurel Bludgen, and junior Molly Yetter achieved a seventh-place finish with a time of 1:31.05, marking it as the second-fastest in program history.
Freshmen Gwen Bakker and Kylee Sessions advanced to the C finals in the 100 breaststroke. Bakker secured sixth place with a time of 1:03.00, adding three points to her team's score, while Sessions finished eighth with a time of 1:04.55 and earned one point.
Junior Suvana Baskar placed fifth in the C finals for the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.27 seconds, contributing four points to Illinois' total score.
Freshman diver Matilda Garcia led on springboards for Illinois by placing 27th in the three-meter dive event with a score of 240.30.
Senior Laurel Bludgen recorded a personal best in the 100 butterfly at 57.98 seconds while junior Paloma Canos Cervera achieved her personal best in the 200 freestyle at 1:51.90.
As it stands after Day Three:
- Sydney Stoll leads individual scores for Illinois with twelve points.
- Matilda Garcia follows with five points.
- Gwen Bakker and Sara Jass each have three points.
- Kylee Sessions has one point.
