The Illinois swim and dive team concluded their tri-meet against Purdue and Missouri on January 13 in West Lafayette, Indiana. Freshman diver Elle Crisostomo achieved a notable performance by recording the program's eighth-highest score on the platform dive with 215.35 points, securing fourth place in the competition.
Junior Sydney Stoll delivered an impressive performance by winning three events: the 100 butterfly with a time of 54.84 seconds, the 200 freestyle clocking at 1:50.11, and the 200 individual medley (IM) finishing at 2:02.13.
Freshman Matilda Garcia set a new personal best in the three-meter dive exhibition with a score of 287.35. Elle Crisostomo also achieved a personal best in the same event with a score of 270.95.
In relay events, the 200 medley relay team consisting of Stoll, freshman Kylee Sessions, junior Logan Kuehne, and senior Lily Olson secured a bronze medal with a time of 1:43.29. Olson also claimed silver in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.56 seconds.
The day concluded with the 400 freestyle relay team composed of Olson, senior Laurel Bludgen, Kuehne, and freshman Maggie Adler achieving third place with a time identical to their earlier relay event at 1:43.29.
Despite these achievements, Illinois fell to Missouri by a score of 195-105 and to conference opponent Purdue by a score of 208-92.
