Illinois volleyball is set to conclude its non-conference schedule with the Lippy Invite, facing Missouri on Friday and Lipscomb on Saturday. Both matches will be available for viewing on ESPN+. The Fighting Illini have had a strong start to their 2024 season, holding a record of 7-1.

Head Coach Chris Tamas leads the team into his eighth season with an overall coaching record of 138-82. The Illinois volleyball program has been active for 51 seasons, accumulating an overall record of 1,073-625-7.

In their last outing, Illinois defeated WKU at the Hyatt Place Invitational. Key performances included Raina Terry's double-double with 19 kills and 14 digs, Averie Hernandez's 17 kills and 12 digs, Cari Bohm's nine blocks, and Christina Martinez Mundo's 15 digs. Terry was recognized for her performance by being named to the all-tournament team.

Raina Terry continues to excel in her final season with Illinois. She ranks second in the Big Ten for points per set this year and has been named MVP twice in three tournaments this season. Her career achievements include over 180 aces and more than 1,700 kills.

Caroline Barnes is approaching a milestone of 1,000 career digs as she currently holds 970 digs. Additionally, Brooke Mosher achieved a triple-double against Wake Forest with notable contributions in assists, kills, and digs.

The Fighting Illini have added new talent this season with four freshmen: Kenzie Cogan, Ashlyn Philpot, Christine Pullen, and Laynie Smith. They also welcomed transfer students Raegen Reilly, Averie Hernandez, Vivian Campbell, and Christina Martinez Mundo.

Jordyn Poulter represented Illinois at the Olympics this summer as part of Team USA in Paris. This marked her second Olympic appearance after previously winning gold at the Tokyo Games.

As they prepare for their upcoming matches against Missouri and Lipscomb at Allen Arena, Illinois looks to continue building on their successful start to the season.
