Illinois' top student-athletes were recognized at The Oskees event held at the State Farm Center in Champaign. This annual celebration acknowledges first-year letter jacket recipients, graduating athletes, and those who have excelled in both sports and academics. The 2024 ceremony marked the second year of a fully-attended banquet since 2019, after modifications due to COVID-19.

Isaiah Williams from football and Kendall Bostic from basketball received the Big Ten Medal of Honor. This award is given annually to one male and one female student-athlete from each member institution's graduating class for excellence on and off the field. "On the field, Williams was one of the most productive receivers in Illinois history," according to a statement. Off the field, he has been involved in various community service activities and leadership roles.

Bostic has also excelled both on and off the court. She led the Big Ten in rebounding for three consecutive seasons while earning multiple academic honors. "Aspiring young athletes line up night after night for a chance to talk with the Illini senior," highlighting her influence beyond sports.

The Fighting Illini Spirit Awards went to Isaiah Williams from football and Jada Peebles from basketball for embodying team spirit, courage, effort, and dedication.

Additionally, women's swim & dive (3.76 GPA) and men's gymnastics (3.65 GPA) teams were honored for having top cumulative GPAs among varsity sports over two semesters.

The swim & dive team also won the Illini Way Student-Athlete Development Team Competition Award under head coach Jeana Kempe for achievements in community engagement, personal development, leadership, and awards.

Finalists for several other awards including Dike Eddleman Athlete of the Year were announced with winners set to be named in June following spring sports season completion.
