No. 20 Illinois is set to face No. 1 Oregon in a significant Big Ten matchup this Saturday, marking the first time the Fighting Illini will play a conference game in the Pacific Time Zone. The game will be broadcast on CBS at 2:30 p.m. CT.

Illinois comes into this game following a notable victory over No. 24 Michigan, where they secured a 21-7 win and forced three turnovers. This marked their third ranked win of the season, contributing to their current record of 6-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play.

Oregon has maintained an undefeated record so far this season, standing at 7-0 overall and leading the conference with a 4-0 record. The Ducks recently ascended to the top of the AP poll after defeating Purdue with a score of 35-0.

This weekend's game will be only the second visit for Illinois to Autzen Stadium in Eugene, with their last appearance dating back to 1995. Historically, Oregon holds a slight advantage over Illinois with two wins out of three meetings between these teams.

Illinois head coach Bret Bielema has led his team to its best start since his tenure began four seasons ago, matching his previous best start from two years ago. Under Bielema's leadership, Illinois has achieved five wins against ranked opponents during his time as head coach.

The Illini have been successful against top-ranked teams only three times before, most recently in their memorable victory over Ohio State in 2007. They are now preparing for another challenge against a No.1 team for the first time since that historic win.

Broadcast coverage for Saturday’s game includes Brad Nessler on play-by-play duties alongside analyst Gary Danielson and sideline reporter Jenny Dell on CBS. The radio broadcast will feature Brian Barnhart as play-by-play announcer with Kevin Mitchell providing analysis and Michael Martin reporting from the sidelines on Busey Bank Illini Sports Network.

Illinois' strong performance this season is highlighted by quarterback Luke Altmyer’s impressive passing efficiency and wide receiver Pat Bryant’s notable receiving touchdowns within both national rankings and Big Ten standings.
