Fighting Illini soccer has released its full 2024 schedule, which includes 18 matches with 11 set to be played at Demirjian Park. The team will prepare for the regular season with two exhibition games at home against Eastern Illinois on August 5 and IU Indianapolis on August 8.
The official season begins with a five-match homestand featuring games against Wright State on August 15, DePaul on August 18, Missouri on August 22, Illinois State on August 25, and Kentucky on September 1. Following this stretch, the team will travel to face Georgia on September 5 and Mercer on September 8 to conclude non-conference play.
Big Ten competition starts for Illinois at home against Minnesota on September 12. Additional conference home games include matchups with Iowa (September 22), Maryland (September 29), USC (October 10), UCLA (October 13), and Northwestern in the regular-season finale on October 27.
Away from home, the Fighting Illini will compete against Big Ten opponents Wisconsin (September 19), Nebraska (September 26), Purdue (October 6), Indiana (October 17), and Rutgers (October 20).
The upcoming season marks the team's twenty-third under head coach Janet Rayfield's leadership.
