Four athletes from the University of Illinois have been recognized by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) with Academic All-District At-Large awards. Graduate student Evan Manivong and sophomores Tate Costa, Kyle Mayotte, and Ryan Vanichtheeranont have each earned this honor for the first time.

The CSC sets criteria for eligibility, requiring nominees to maintain a minimum GPA of 3.50, be enrolled full-time, and have at least sophomore standing both academically and athletically. Additionally, gymnasts must rank in the top 75 in an event within their division according to Road to Nationals.

Evan Manivong, pursuing a master's degree in management, participated in ten meets during his final season and competed individually at the Big Ten Championships. He also received his fourth consecutive Academic All-Big Ten award as he concluded his academic career at Illinois.

Tate Costa, who is studying statistics, competed in all 14 meets this season and won eight event titles. He is also the reigning high bar national champion and has earned Academic All-Big Ten honors.

Kyle Mayotte took part in six meets while working toward a degree in recreation, sport, and tourism. He achieved three personal bests during the 2024 season on parallel bars and high bar against Ohio State on March 16, as well as on still rings at the EVO Collegiate Open on February 9.

Ryan Vanichtheeranont majors in biochemistry and competed in twelve meets this season, securing five high bar titles. The athlete from Plainville set personal records in still rings at the Big Ten Championships and on parallel bars and high bar at the EVO Collegiate Open.

These four Illini athletes contributed significantly to their team's success, leading them to a 20-9 record which included winning a regular-season Big Ten title and achieving third place at the Big Ten Championships.
