The University of Illinois' men's gymnastics team, ranked third nationally, is set to host a tri-meet against William & Mary and Simpson College. The event will take place at Huff Hall in Champaign on Friday, March 1, at 6 p.m. CT.

This season marks the third encounter between Illinois and Simpson. Previously, Illinois secured victories over Simpson at both the Windy City Invitational and the EVO Collegiate Open. The Illini have a strong record against William & Mary as well, having defeated them in their only previous meeting during the preliminaries of the 2021 NCAA Championships.

Simpson recently faced a defeat against No. 1 Oklahoma but saw Sterling Pariza claim his first all-around title with a score of 73.050. Meanwhile, William & Mary competed virtually against Cal, with Sam Lee achieving second place on vault and Niko Greenly earning a career-high score on rings.

Illinois maintains its No.3 ranking after a two-week break from competition. Several Illini athletes are individually ranked across different events: Connor McCool is second on floor; Tate Costa is fifth on floor; Brandon Dang is second on pommel horse; Will Hauke ranks ninth on pommel horse; Ashton Anaya holds second place on still rings; Amari Sewell stands at 13th for vault along with Michael Fletcher (15th), Evan Manivong (16th), Garrett Schooley (17th); Hauke ties for 13th in parallel bars while Fletcher ranks 15th; Logan Myers secures eighth position in high bar followed by Costa (ninth) and Ryan Vanichtheeranont (11th).
