Illinois soccer is set to conclude its regular season with matches against two ranked opponents. The team will face No. 14 Michigan State on October 19 in East Lansing, followed by a game against No. 25 Nebraska on October 22 at Demirjian Park in Champaign.

The Illini, under head coach Janet Rayfield for the past 22 seasons, have an overall record of 283-215-46. Admission to home games is free, with parking available near the venue.

Promotions for the Nebraska match include a Women's Empowerment event and a scrimmage featuring "100 Girls vs. Illini Soccer."

In recent play, Illinois split its last two matches, losing narrowly to Wisconsin but defeating Purdue. Goalkeeper Julia Cili played a key role with multiple saves across both games.

Michigan State currently holds a record of 10-3-3 and ranks fourth in the Big Ten preseason poll. Key players include Raegan Cox and Justina Gaynor.

Nebraska has an 11-2-3 record and was predicted to finish sixth in the conference. Forward Eleanor Dale leads the nation with 21 goals this season.

Illinois' Lia Howard has been notable for her scoring ability, leading her team with four goals this season. Makala Woods also contributed significantly by becoming one of eight different scorers for Illinois this year.

The Illini have experienced success against ranked teams this season, including victories over Xavier and Loyola early on.

Newcomers Mya Archibald and Sophia Wampler have joined Illinois' roster this year, bringing international experience from Canada and Peru respectively.

Three players—Kennedy Berschel, Makala Woods, and Ella Karolak—were named to the Big Ten Players to Watch List before the season began.
