Illinois soccer has strengthened its roster for the upcoming 2024 season with the addition of Lindsey DuSatko, a transfer from Valparaiso. Head coach Janet Rayfield announced the inclusion of DuSatko, a forward from Plainfield, Illinois.
DuSatko's notable achievements include aiding Valparaiso to its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2014 by winning the 2023 Missouri Valley Tournament. Over three seasons with the Crusaders, she played in 67 matches and made 58 starts, recording 11 goals and providing 11 assists. Her accolades at Valparaiso include being named to the MVC All-Conference Third Team in 2023, First Team in 2022, and Second Team in 2021.
Before her college career, DuSatko was recognized as an All-Sectional and All-Conference honoree at Plainfield North High School. She also contributed to Chicago Inter's success in taking first place in the Midwest Regional League and reaching the State Cup semifinals.
Coach Janet Rayfield expressed enthusiasm about DuSatko joining Illinois: "Lindsey adds experience, is accustomed to winning and can add a big push to the attacking side of our program. Her ability to attack down the flank and provide quality service into the box is a quality we will look to leverage in making us a more dangerous attacking team."
On choosing Illinois, DuSatko stated: "The team all made me feel welcome, I know the coaches will make me a better player and lead me to do good things on and off the field. The overall atmosphere was amazing."
DuSatko's arrival brings valuable experience and skill that could significantly enhance Illinois' offensive capabilities as they prepare for their next campaign.
