The Fighting Illini men's golf team, currently ranked No. 5 in the Bushnell/Golfweek Division I Coaches Poll, is set to compete in the Windon Memorial Classic on September 29-30. The event will take place at Conway Farms Golf Club in Lake Forest, Illinois.
Conway Farms Golf Club, a Par-71 course spanning 7,432 yards, was designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 1991. The venue has hosted several notable events including three BMW Championships (2013, 2015, and 2017), the U.S. Junior Amateur (1998), the Western Amateur (2009), the Men's NCAA Championship (1997), and the Big Ten Championship (2006).
The tournament will feature a 54-hole format over two days. On Sunday, participants will play 36 holes starting with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. CT. The final round of 18 holes will commence on Monday with tee times from Nos. 1 and 10 beginning at 7:55 a.m. CT.
Sixteen programs are set to compete in this year's field, including seven teams either ranked or receiving votes in the coaches poll. Besides Illinois, other notable teams include No. 13 Arizona and No. 25 Pepperdine as well as Kansas, Michigan State, Notre Dame, and Purdue who are all receiving votes.
Illinois' lineup for the event includes Ryan Voois at No.1, Max Herendeen at No.2, Trey Marrion at No.3, Jackson Buchanan at No.4, and Ethan Wilson at No.5. Additionally, Jake Birdwell and Joseph Buttress will participate as individuals.
This marks Illinois' first appearance at the Windon Memorial Classic; no current team members have previously competed in this event.

Following this event, Illinois will participate in the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational from October 19-21 in Saucier, Mississippi.
